Developed user-friendly, field-tested guidance that will assist
practitioners in applying a sustainable livelihoods approach to
community based and church based programmes that support those affected
by HIV and AIDS. The guidance aims to: (1) assist practitioners to
integrate livelihoods initiatives into existing church based models of
HIV prevention, care and support, and treatment programmes and, (2)
inform the design of new HIV-friendly livelihoods initiatives. This
guidance, entitled Think
Livelihoods! A Facilitators Guide for Applying a Livelihoods lens when
working with People, Households and Communities affected by HIV and
AIDS, is currently being piloted in Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya.
Consultant conducted week-long training workshops for practitioners (in
Ethiopia) on how to use the Guidance.

Singapore and Johannesburg Offices: March–June 2008
Conducted research and developed a lessons learned document on applying
a livelihoods framework to emergency response programming using WV
programs in Swaziland, Zimbabwe and the Asia Tsunami countries as case
studies. Document is available on request.
